SATHI’s mission is to enhance the publicness of healthcare and make it accessible to everyone. As a pioneering organisation in India that promotes the Right to Healthcare through community-based accountability processes, we have successfully collaborated with over 50 civil society organisations in Maharashtra and have served as the State Nodal NGO for implementing community-based monitoring and planning of health services.
This innovative approach has deepened democracy, increased accountability, and enabled systematic data collection on health indicators. SATHI has partnered with national and international organisations, and has developed a wide range of resource materials to strengthen public healthcare services. Our innovative community-led processes such as de-centralised health planning and Social Audit of Public Services (Multi-sectoral) are widely regarded as models by policy makers, CSOs and academicians.
